FAQ
Murphy SPRING-OPERATED Beds
vs Murphy PANEL HYDRAULIC-LIFT Beds
We Supply Both
What’s The Difference between Spring-Operated and Hydraulic-Lift
/ Piston Systems? |

|
Space
Advantages - This Murphy Spring Operated Wall Bed is a Counter-Balanced
system. The mechanism
is mounted inside of a Murphy Bed Cabinet that stands up against your
existing wall (no construction is necessary). The mechanism is secured
to the floor and is not attached anywhere to the cabinet or wall. The
cabinet or closet is only to conceal the bed and has no operating function
whatsoever. Because it has no extra weight on the bottom of the bed,
the springs are adequate for easy lifting and storing. The Murphy Bed
Spring Operated System has a Lifetime Warranty.

Space
Advantages - This Murphy Panel Wall Bed is Piston or Hydraulic Operated. The
wall bed is the cabinet also. The part that conceals the bed is under
the entire lifting system. When you raise the bed into a stored position
the bottom of the bed is a beautiful decorative panel. This bed is
secured to the wall and functions as one whole unit. Because the
bed has extra weight on the bottom, the springs cannot lift the extra
weight, therefore hydraulics are installed for easy lifting and storing.
This hydraulic lift panel wall bed unit has a Limited
Warranty.

Spring Operated Bed - SPACE
ADVANTAGES Murphy Bed
Pros
-
More cabinet selections. Choose from more economically
priced melamine to beautiful raised panel woods.
Since the cabinet is separate from the working mechanism, the cabinet
does not have weight restrictions.
-
The mechanism has no parts that can break. We offer
a Lifetime Warranty on the frame. The springs can loosen
over time and have a ten-year warranty. The replacement cost for
a spring is $10.00, and it is an easy task.
-
The entire unit is knocked down making it easy to get into
small rooms - up or down steep steps or narrow halls.
Cons
-
The spring-operated bed installed inside our Wall Bed Cabinet
has bi-fold doors. Some rooms will not allow the extra
space for the doors to fold back.
-
Some customers prefer to not have bi-fold doors.

Floor installation is the preferred installation. False
floors are an alternative.
