Mattress Details

The Murphy Wall Bed is designed to give all the comfort of the traditional bed with the capability to store safely and easy. Use any standard mattress up to 11" deep in our 20" deep cabinets.

Technical Details

This Wall Bed mechanism will provide decades of operation whether it is used in a commercial or residential surrounding. The mechanism is constructed of high quality steel domestically produced to American Society for Testing Metals (ASTM) specification A-36. The bed is counter balanced with extension springs of high tensile strength, .170 diameter, wire produced to ATSM-A228 specifications.

The assembly is attached to the floor with a minimum of 8 - 2" lag bolts or, 6 - 1.5" expansion bolts depending on the floor composition. The bed frame is attached to a pivot point to facilitate easy raising and lowering of the wall bed mechanism. Two legs located at the foot of the frame are equipped with actuator arms, which automatically store when the bed is raised, and lock into a support position when the bed is lowered. Rubber shoes are mounted to the bottom of the legs to protect floors.
